2009 불암-미리암 교환학습 프로그램 (2009 Bulam-Miriam Exchange Program) 이 4월 5일 부터 10일간 서울 불암초등학교에서 개최됩니다.

불암초등학교미리암 초등학교는 2008년 8월 양교 간 체결된 협약(MOA) 에 따라 매년 20여명의 학생들을 교환하는 학습 프로그램을 진행하고 있습니다.

본 행사를 위해 지난 1월 불암초등학교의 12명의 학생들이 필리핀 퀘존의 미리암 초등학교를 방문하여 학교와 현지인 가정의 홈스테이를 통해 필리핀의 문화와 생활을 직접 체험한 바 있습니다.

특히 한-비 수교 60주년을 맞이하는 시점에서 이루어지게 되는 이번 미리암 학생들의 한국 방문 역시 양국간 어린 학생들이 서로 다른 문화를 직접 체험하고 배우게 됨으로써 학생 개인적으로 뿐만 아니라, 양국간의 우호증진에 좋은 기회가 될 것으로 기대합니다.

I am very excited to go to Korea and meet my host families. I want learn much about your rich and colorful country. I also want to learn about your rich culture, taste your unique dishes, listen to your songs and music and see the different places in Korea.



MARIA JOSEFINA K. LAGONERA (Grade 6)

I am very excited to see your beautiful country and learn about its people and its culture. Thank you for letting me stay with you. I am also happy to know that I will be seeing my two Korean friends again, Jenny and Sally. Gamsa hamnida.




Danielle Iris L. Sison (Grade 6)
Thank you for having me with you. I'm sure that it will be a fun experience. I know that it will be hard hosting me and my other two friends and I thank you for that. I am sure that I am going to have an amazing time. So Thanks for having me!




Allyn Raiza Vasquez Cantos (Grade 6)
I am very excited to meet you. I hope we will have a great time together, despite the shortness of time. I would like to thank you in advance for your willingness to accomodate us. Mikaela Marie L. Pereira (Grade 6)

I am very much honored and proud to be one of the ambassadres to this Korean Cultural Exchange Program. I am so excited to see Korea and see the many places she is known for and likewise meet the students of Bulam Elementary School. I am also very eager to live with a Korean family as this is the first time I will be away from home. I hope that the family I will stay with will welcome and consider me as a true daughter even for awhile.


Chryss Lou R. Umali (Grade 6)

Thank you very much for hosting me. In the future, I hope to host your daughter in a trip to the Philippines. I know I will have a great time and I will remember your wonderful family for the rest of my life. When we leave for the Philippines, I hope to see your family again.




Maryclaire Isabel O. Cribe (Grade 6)

How I wish that I could easily adjust to your cold weather there. I want to learn your values, your traditions as well as your culture. I wish that you could speak English so we can communicate well and share our views. I want to enjoy and have a memorable vacation in Seoul and maintain good friendship with your family.

I am excited to visit your country and learn about your culture. I am eager to meet your family, who is kind enough to allow me to stay in your home for several days. I am Althea. :) I'm turning 13 this July and I am really looking forward to my stay with you. I am really excited for my first trip to South Korea. I'm confident that I'll be safe with you and I feel very lucky to be on this program. :) Thank you for being my host family. :)

I am really excited and nervous at the same time in meeting you, my korean family. I hope that my stay with you will be a rewarding experience for me and for you.  Thank you for your kindness and generosity in accommodating us. 서울 불암초등학교를 방문하는 미리암 초등학교의 학생들을 맞이할 준비를 위해 학부모 예비 모임이 있었습니다.

17명의 학생과 2명의 인솔교사, 이렇게 총 19명이 방문하게 될 이번 프로그램에서 총 20곳의 가정에서 홈스테이 프로그램에 참여를 해 주시게 됩니다.

사실 처음엔 문화와 기후 등이 다른 조건의 아이들을 프로그램 기간내내 돌봐주실 수 있는 홈스테이 가정이 얼마나 있을까 염려가 되었던 것도 사실이었는데, 이번 모임을 통해 제 염려가 괜한 기우였음을 알 수 있었던 자리였습니다. ^^

Korean Host Family Orientation - Bulam Elementary School


예비 모임을 통해 홈스테이가 단순히 외국에서 온 손님에게 숙식을 제공하는 행위가 아니라, 우리의 문화를 전달하는 민간외교관으로써의 역할을 하게 되는 것도 확인할 수 있었고, 무엇보다도 우리 문화를 배우러 온 외국의 손님을 우리 가정의 손님으로 맞이함으로써 우리 아이들이 우리와 문화가 다른 아이들과 함께 지내며 그들을 이해할 수 있는 기회를 얻게 되는 교육적인 효과도 기대할 수 있다는 점에서 한껏 기대가 되는 것도 사실입니다.

개인적인 욕심!! 으로는~ 언어와 문화가 다르고, 기후와 생활환경의 차이가 있겠지만, 이번 기회를 통해서 앞으로의 한국과 필리핀의 아이들이 서로를 이해하고 '우리와 다른 것' 을 보다 긍정적으로 받아들이게 됨으로써 양국의 '미래'가 지금 보다는 좀 더 가까워질 수 있는 계기가 될 수 있었으면 하는 바램입니다.

한창~ 손님맞을 준비로 바쁘실 홈스테이 가정에게... 화이팅 한번 외쳐 드립니다. ^^
