한국에서의 첫날을 잘 보냈는지, 모두들 밝은 얼굴로 등교를 했습니다.
몇몇 학생들은 홈스테이 가정에서 실내 온도를 '너무' 올려주셔서 밤에 잘때 너무 더웠다고 하더군요.
아마도 한국날씨가 필리핀 학생들에게는 좀 춥지 않을까~ 염려하셨던 홈스테이 가정의 배려(!!) 가 아니었나 싶습니다. 어쨌든... 좀 더웠다고 하네요 ^^
첫번째 공식 행사인, 환영식이 있었습니다.
방송을 통해 전교 어린이들에게 인사를 할 수 있는 기회가 있었는데요. 학교 전체에 이렇게 방송을 통해서 조회를 할 수 있다는 점이 무척 인상깊게 느껴집니다.
한명 한명 카메라 앞으로 나와서 인사도 하고, 전교 어린이 회장의 환영사에 답사도 하는 모습이 제법 그럴듯해 보입니다. 학교와 나라를 대표하는 모습들일테니 말이죠.

오늘은 한국의 문화와 역사를 살펴볼 예정입니다. 여러가지 프로그램 중에 경복궁(Gyeong-Bok-Gung or Gyeongbok Palace) 과 인사동(Insa-Dong), 그리고 남산 한옥마을(Hanok Village)을 선택했습니다.
Gyeong-Bok-Gung (or Gyeongbok Palace, 경복궁)
Gyeongbokgung also known as Gyeongbok Palace is a palace located in northern Seoul, South Korea. It was the main and largest palace of the Joseon Dynasty and one of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon Dynasty.
The palace was originally constructed in 1394 by King Taejo and "Gyeongbokgung" was named by minister Jeong Do-jeon. Gyeongbokgung was continuously expanded during the reign of King Taejong and King Sejong the Great, but part of the palace was burnt down during the Japanese invasions of Korea (1592-1598).
During the regency of Daewon-gun in 1867, the buildings were reconstructed and formed a massive 330-building complex with 5,792 rooms. Standing on 4,414,000 square feet (410,000 square meters) of land, it was a symbol of majesty for the Korean people and the home of the royal family. In 1895, after the assassination of Empress Myeongseong by Japanese agents, her husband, Emperor Gojong left the palace and the imperial family would never return.
In 1911, the government of Japan demolished all but 10 buildings during the period of Japanese occupation, constructing the Japanese General Government Building for the Governor-General of Korea in front of the throne hall.
At the end of the Second World War, major buildings on the site included Geunjeongjeon, the Imperial throne room (national treasure number 223), and Gyeonghoeru Pavilion (national treasure number 224), which stands in an artificial lotus lake, resting on 48 granite pillars. The pavilion is depicted on the 10,000 won Korean banknotes (1983-2002 Series).
Today the palace is open to the public, and houses the National Folk Museum of Korea. The National Museum of Korea was there too, until it was relocated to Yongsan-gu in 2005.
Archaeological work has brought 330 building foundations to light. The main gate to the palace, called Gwanghwamun, is now being restored to its original state, to be completed in 2009.

Three Big Smile at the Palace!
경복궁 투어를 무사히! 마치고 인사동으로 향했습니다.
경복궁이 역사속 왕을 위한 공간이라고 한다면, 인사동은 현재와 과거가 만나는 공간이라고 할 수 있죠.
인사동에서 제일 먼저 한 일은 바로~ 점심식사 ㅎㅎㅎ
오늘의 점심 식사는 바지락 칼국수 입니다. 뽀나쓰~ 로 만두도 하나씩 ^^;;;
점심을 마치고 본격적인 인사동 투어(Insa-Dong Tour) 가 시작되었습니다.
사실 저도 무척 오랫만에 인사동엘 온것 같은데요. 그래서 그런지 제가 봐도 신기하고, 사고 싶은 물건들도 많더라구요. 그래서 기념이 될 만한 것들 중에 저렴한 녀석으로 몇개 골라봤습니다.

남산 한옥마을은 지하철 3호선 충무로역 부근에 있습니다. 충무로역을 매번 지나다니면서도 사실 그곳에 한옥마을이 있었다는 걸 최근에야 알게 되었었네요. 제가 너무 무관심 했던 걸까요? ㅡㅡ;;
특히 이 한옥마을에는 서울 정도 600년을 기념해서 마련된 타임캡슐이 있는 곳이기도 하죠. 서울정도 천년이 되는 해에 그 타임캡슐을 개봉한다고 합니다. 그럼~ 몇년이 남은거죠??

5천년이나 된 우리나라를, 그리고 600년이 넘는 서울을 배우고 이해하기에 사실 하루동안의 투어는 너무도 짧은 시간이었을지 모릅니다.
다만, 이런 작은 기회들을 통해서 전부를 다 알지는 못하더라도, 서로를 이해하는데 조금의 보탬이 되었으면 하는 바램입니다. 그게 더 중요한일 아닐까요?
오늘 하루동안 머~~~~언 옛날의 한국의 모습을 보여줄 수 있어서 참 좋았습니다.
